Snow Closing Policy :

If Alexandria/ Arlington Public Schools are closed, we are closed.
(We will re-evaluate the conditions after the first day of closure and update our voicemail).

If Alexandria/ Arlington Public Schools have a delayed opening of one/two hours, we will open ONE hour late (8:00 a.m.) to allow for staff to arrive safely.

Please keep in mind that even though we are open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, we do not recommend that parents have their child(ren) at our school from 10-11 hours per day. The staff and I notice that children who are with us for long periods of time are more irritable and tired. We offer a very stimulating program for the children (with little down time), so children are exhausted by the afternoon. We respect the fact that parents have to work each day; however, we suggest that you make other arrangements for pick up if your child is here long hours. You will notice that children who cry each morning before they come to school are those, in particular, who are having difficulty with long days. We, as adults, want to go home and rest after being at work for eight hours each day, so you can imagine how a child feels after being here longer hours.
